First letter to Cammy since before she was born: March 6, 2009

3/6/09
Dear Cammy-
A friend and co-worker of mine, Rhonda Benson, gave me a great idea to keep a journal for you, even before you are born.
Today is March 6, 2009.  Your due date was yesterday.  Dad and I are so incredibly anxious to meet you.  We hope it’s not too much longer.  Your cousin, Olivia, was supposed to be born March 14, 9 days after you, but Aunt Erin had to be induced on March 2nd, making you the third to be born of Aunt Kristin, Aunt Erin, and me, instead of second.
This pregnancy has flown by.  Well, everything up until this point.  For Halloween, dad and I dressed up as the main characters in the movie, “Juno.”  I’m not sure what age we’ll let you see that movie, but you’ll see pictures.
I’m not exactly sure how it came to be, but we’ve been calling you “BLT” throughout this pregnancy.  “Tookis” means “butt,” and dad had never heard of the word before me and thought I made it up.  After he heard others say the word, he realized I didn’t make it up. So, we started calling you “Little Tookis” then I think “Baby Little Tookis” which we shortened to “BLT.”  Whenever dad and I walk lately, I am so much slower b/c of all this weight, he holds my hand and says “Come on Little Tookis.” He can’t wait until you are able to walk and just barely be able to hold onto 1 of his fingers b/c your hands are so small and say to you “Come on Little Tookis.”
We just couldn’t resist finding out if you were a boy or a girl.  So, at our 20 week ultrasound, we found out you were a girl.  We both had a feeling that’s what you were.  We were so happy to give you a real name, Cameron Jacqueline.  Dad has always loved the name Cameron.  I had a student last year named “Cammy Pope” and she was absolutely wonderful.  So, I loved the name as well.  Then, you middle name isn’t after me, it’s after grandma.  I can’t wait for you to meet her.
We are anxiously awaiting your arrival, Cammy.
We love you so much already and we haven’t met you yet.
Love,
Mom
